How is the salary of my consultants calculated?
At 2i Portage, the calculation of the net salary (before income tax) is done using the following formula:
NET SALARY = Revenue – (Management fees) – (Professional expenses) – (Social contributions + Taxes)
Let’s take a concrete example:
- TJM = €500 excl. VAT
- Over 20 days, this gives a Revenue (CA) = €10,000 excl. VAT
- Management fees: 5% (i.e. €500)
- Professional expenses: €1,500
- Social contributions and taxes: €3,714
This results in a Net Salary of: €4,286
Which gives a MONTHLY EARNINGS = Net Salary + Professional Expenses = €5,786
Your consultant receives 58% of their invoicing.
